Serve as a Mission Builder
At the University of the Nations, Battambang in Cambodia, volunteers come for 1 to 3 months to serve as Mission Builders. People who strengthen the daily life and training environment of our community.
Mission Builders support the systems, spaces, and relationships that allow students and staff to grow, learn, and serve effectively.
This is practical service with meaningful impact.

Require
No need to have done our into training course ‘DTS’.
You just need to be 18 years or older. Have a heart for service, and be in good health to work 40 hours per week in roles like maintenance, construction, teaching, youth programs or hospitality.
English or Khmer language proficiency is needed on campus.

Do I need specific skills?
Not necessarily. Some seasons require particular expertise, while others focus more on consistent team support. We’ll explore your strengths together during the application process to find a good fit.
Is this the same as volunteering?
Yes. At our location, short-term volunteers apply and serve through the Mission Builder pathway. So people who volunteer with us are called mission builders. The term ‘Mission Builder’ comes from the past when professionals and general laborers volunteered to help build a YWAM campus in Kona, Hawaii, in 1978. They literally built the mission.
Today a mission builder is anyone who is willing to help serve in any capacity as a volunteer.
What Visa do I need?
Do not get a tourist visa.
In order to comply with local laws, please get an Ordinary Visa, also known as a Business Visa.
This will allow you to volunteer and is the only visa that is possible to extend.
